Slater Reid Sousley
Overview
Slater Reid Sousley (b. 1995, Kansas) currently splits his time working between his in-home studio in Overland Park, Kansas and his family’s farm in Central Missouri. Sousley earned his Bachelor of Fine Arts in Painting from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago (SAIC) in May 2017, followed by a Master of Arts in Art from Eastern Illinois University in 2019, where he was honored with both the Distinguished Graduate Award and the King-Mertz Award of Excellence. He will continue his artistic education in Fall 2025 as a candidate for the Master of Fine Arts in Visual Art at the University of Kansas. Recent exhibitions include a group show, titled Bloom, at Povos Gallery in Chicago, IL, in March and April of 2023, and a group show and two person show with McLennon Pen Co. in Austin, TX, in February 2024 and January 2025.
